BOE announces 600Hz laptop display

The Chinese company BOE introduced a display for laptops with a record frequency. This is reported by TechSpot.

The announcement took place at the World Display Industry Conference in China. According to representatives of BOE, the screen created in the company has a diagonal of 16 inches. The frequency of the display matrix reaches 600 hertz, which allows you to display dynamic objects as smoothly as possible. BOE noted that the new screen will be used in computers for gamers.

The company did not disclose the type of IPS matrix used, only noting that the demonstration was conducted on an unnamed laptop based on an AMD Ryzen processor and an Nvidia RTX graphics card. During the presentation, CS:GO, Valorant and Overwatch 2 games were launched on the laptop.

According to TechSpot journalists, the panel demonstrated by BOE could make a breakthrough in the gaming PC segment. At the moment, most premium laptops are capable of 360 hertz, the monitor introduced in May by Asus and Nvidia has a frequency of 500 hertz.

The experts explained that doubling the screen refresh rate from 60 to 120 hertz makes a huge difference, as the time between displayed frames is reduced by about 8.3 milliseconds. Going from 300 to 600 hertz improves screen response by 1.6 milliseconds.

At the end of November, analysts from the Chek Index and UMoney services announced that demand for gaming computers had sharply increased in Russia. The average check for gaming PCs from January to October this year increased by eight percent, to 69.6 thousand rubles.
