Furniture made with used pressed sheets, the initiative of a Galician company to recycle

A company from A Coruña has managed to find a new use for all those sheets that hotels usually throw away after 250 washes. Tattoo Contract has discovered a way to achieve manufacturing consistent furniture with this stuff.

Among the objects that they have managed to build with sheets are tables that appear to be made of natural stone but are actually made of pressed sheets that mix with resins and carbonates. In this way, the white material begins to harden little by little.

“Every two sheets we have a kilo and to make this table we need nine kilos”Pablo García-Bodaño, executive director of this Galician company, explained to laSexta, showing one of these pieces of furniture.

In addition, in this company they obtain with jeans, sheets or multiple residues, hard materials, fire resistant and moldable. Some projects that can be personalized thanks to digital printing.

The truth is that in Spain there are 900,000 hotel beds, each sheet lasts 250 washes. Until now, after this use they were thrown away. Now, thanks to this company, all of them can be recycled for a new use.

In fact, this is not the only objective that this company has, and it is now planning to speak with the Galician fishing industry to create, with fish skins, textile material.
