Karpin explained the absence of the top scorer of the RPL in the Russian national team

The coaching staff of the Russian national team will rely on more experienced players in the 2022 World Cup qualification matches with Cyprus and Croatia. The head coach of the team, Valery Karpin, spoke about this at a press conference, which was broadcast by the team’s YouTube channel.

This is how the specialist explained the absence of Hamid Agalarov, the top scorer of the Russian Premier League (RPL), as well as Dynamo forward Konstantin Tyukavin. He stressed that both will go to the location of the Russian youth team and, if necessary, will join the national team at any time.

The final roster of the Russian national team was announced earlier on Monday, November 1. Karpin called 29 players. The Russians will play at home with Cyprus on November 11. In three days, the away team will meet with Croatia.

Ufa forward Agalarov played 13 matches in the RPL this season and scored 11 goals.
