Karpin assessed the prospects of Dziuba in the Russian national team

The head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin said that he did not consider the candidacy of Zenit forward Artem Dziuba to be called up to the national team for the November matches. He spoke about this at a press conference broadcast by the national team’s YouTube channel.

The specialist also assessed the prospects of the striker in the team. He noted that he did not know whether he would call the player to the national team in the future. Karpin stressed that the main reason for Dziuba’s absence at the next training camp is his play for Zenit, and not his refusal to go to the national team in October.

The final roster of the Russian national team for the decisive matches of the 2022 World Cup qualification against Cyprus (November 11) and Croatia (November 14) was announced earlier on Monday, November 1. Dziuba was not included in this list, nor in the expanded one, which was published on October 25.

Dziuba refused to come to the national team for the October World Cup qualification matches. He stated that he was not in optimal physical shape.
