With Chelsea at the end of his contract, Rudiger is back in Real Madrid’s sights

Antonio Rudiger reentered the crosshairs of the Real Madrid for the next season, according to the newspaper Marca. The 28-year-old defender ends his contract with Chelsea in June and is a request from Carlo Ancelotti, who sees the defense as one of the main needs of the Spanish squad.

The German defender has not reached a renewal agreement with the Blues and is speculated at several clubs. However, the requirement of a salary in the region of 12 million euros per season, would have alienated those interested and forced the athlete’s agents to reduce the request.

In this way, Real Madrid returned to the competition and sees in Rudiger a great market opportunity, given the good age of the athlete, who would arrive as a free agent.

If the negotiation goes ahead, the German should form a pair of defenders with the Brazilian Éder Militão. Thus, Alaba would be moved to the left side – a position that has been giving Ancelotti a headache, given the injuries of Mendy and Marcelo.

This season, Rudiger has played in 47 games and is one of Tuchel’s trusted men. In addition, the defender scored five goals and four assists, including a goal against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this year.
