Former Brazilian players Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Roberto Carlos have entered the FIFA-endorsed International Football Hall of Fame in the Mexican city of Pachuca. In addition to them, the Spaniard Raúl González and the Italian Fabio Cannavaro are also present.
“I’m not much for words, I just played ball,” Ronaldinho said at the 10th ceremony in Hall of Fame history.
“I’m very happy, not even in my best dream I imagined one day going through this, to be with so many legends. Thank you all”, completed the 2002 world champion with the Brazilian National Team.
Roberto Carlos, also five-time champion, Cannavaro and Raúl sent messages of thanks via video.
In women’s football, one of those elected to the Hall of Fame was the Swedish coach Pia Sundhage, currently in charge of the women’s national team and who led the United States to win gold medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing-2008 and London-2012.
In the “deans” category, the Brazilian Didí, world champion in 1958 and 1962, was one of those selected.
