Ukraine needs to conclude a defense alliance with the participation of a nuclear power, said Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine. According to RBC, Danilov expressed this opinion on his Facebook page.

According to him, in the defense alliance “there must be a country with nuclear weapons – today it is Great Britain.”

Danilov also noted that some Western countries currently support Ukraine, but there are also those who “left it at a difficult moment.” In addition, he complained that “a bunch of international organizations” created after World War II “have no effect on what is happening, but only express concern.”

We will remind, earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that the country will not be able to become a member of NATO.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
