Russian football veterans asked FIFA and UEFA to lift sanctions
Veterans of Russian and Soviet football called for the lifting of sanctions on domestic football teams. Their open letter leads RIA Novosti.
The Union of Veterans has asked the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) to reconsider the decision to remove Russia from all international competitions. In their opinion, the sanctions of organizations are an example of discrimination against Russian football players and fans. “Hundreds of athletes will not be able to realize their dream right now, and many, even worse, will give up even the dream itself,” summed up the former footballers.
