Before the match, the fans indicated that the main favorite of the match was a Pole. The first set, however, brought some uncertainty. This is because Dunka had high expectations of ours. The fight was fierce and therefore a tie-break was needed to settle. In it – quite unexpectedly – Tauson turned out to be better 7: 3 and took the lead in the match 1-0. However, it took an hour to determine this result.

The second set is already a significant advantage of Świątek. The Polish woman managed to break Clara Tauson twice. The first time was at the beginning of the set. Later, our tennis player won the game with her pass and gave one back with her opponent’s pass. Three more were hers again. It was only the seventh gem that gave Dunka hope that something else could change in this set. The Polish team, however, quickly led to a draw in the match with her pass.

The third, decisive set did not start so well for Iga ¦wi ± tek. She was serving Dunka and she could not be broken. She won the game, but as it turned out later, the only one in this set. The Polish woman achieved an excellent level of effectiveness, although unexpectedly her double service errors in individual games began to occur.

Ultimately, however, Świątek won the last set three times, breaking Clara Tauson 6: 1. It was the shortest set in this match, as it lasted 39 minutes. Thanks to this, the Pole was promoted to the 1/8 finals. There she will face the best player in the clash of Kreber versus Kasatkina.
