Lewandowski equals record for away goals in a Bundesliga season

Robert Lewandowski scored in the equalizer Bayern Munchen 1-1 against Hoffenheim this Saturday and came close to breaking yet another record in the Bundesliga. The striker reached 17 goals scored away from home in the current edition of the championship and equaled the mark of Jupp Heynckes, in 1973/74, and Timo Werner, in 2019/20.

Now, Lewandowski will have four more away games to set a new Bundesliga record. Based on the numbers, the new mark is a matter of time, because Lewandowski has already scored 29 goals in 26 matches in the Bundesliga this edition.

In yet another high-profile season, the Pole currently averages one direct participation every 66 minutes, according to Footstats. In all, there are 43 goals, four assists in 36 games.

Isolated leader in the Bundesliga with 60 points, Bayern is also alive in the Champions League. In the round of 16, they won 7-1 at RB Salzburg at home, after a draw in Austria. On that occasion, Lewandowski scored a hat-trick.
