A telephone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin, French leader Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

According to TASS with reference to the Kremlin press service, during this conversation, Putin called on his European colleagues to influence the Kiev authorities so that criminal actions against civilians were stopped.

According to the President of the Russian Federation, nationalist battalions in Ukraine systematically disrupt operations to save the population, and Ukrainian security forces violate international law.

Scholz, in turn, told Putin that he had phoned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before this conversation, and once again reminded the head of the Russian Federation of the need for a ceasefire in Ukraine and the search for a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

As a result of the conversation, the leaders of the three countries agreed to maintain contacts on Ukrainian issues.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The head of the Russian Defense Ministry, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, said that the main task of this operation is to protect Russia from a military threat from Western countries that “are trying to use the Ukrainian people in the fight against our country.” In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Russian operation could end at any moment, but Kyiv must amend its constitution so that Ukraine would reject any goal of joining any bloc.
