Ski manufacturer suspends cooperation with Russians after Bolshunov’s post
The French ski manufacturer Rossignol has suspended cooperation with Russian athletes. It is reported by TV2.
Colin Barbe, director of the company’s sports direction, said that Rossignol will support the position of international federations. Thus, Rossignol temporarily refused to cooperate with Russian athletes.
Skis from Rossignol, in particular, are used by three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov. Barbe noted that the company had to contact the Russian after he published a photo in a retro uniform. Bolshunov was informed that Rossignol did not approve of his photographs in the form of the USSR national team against the backdrop of a special Russian operation in Ukraine. As a result, the Russian was forced to delete the post.
On March 1, it became known that the Norwegian Ski Federation banned Russians from participating in races held in the country. After that, the International Ski Federation (FIS) extended the ban to all competitions under its auspices. Russian skiers did not come to the start of the races in Holmenkollen.
