With 7 votes in favor and 4 against, the Economy CommissionBanking, Finance and Financial Intelligence of the Congress of the Republic approved the opinion by insistence that modifies the Law that guarantees the fulfillment of the return of money from Fonavi, prioritizing the vulnerable population, as a consequence of the COVID-19.
In this way, the Economy Commission will insist that the Fonavistas be paid the contributions of the workers, employers and others, which would imply a return of S/ 42,000 million. Said measure had previously been observed by the Executive.
The insistence that must now be discussed in plenary session seeks to benefit 1.8 million former contributors to Fonavi, who for more than two decades have been seeking to have their contributions returned, as ordered by the Constitutional Court.
It is important to point out that Congressman Jorge Morante Figari requested a preliminary question for the Minister of Economy and Finance, Oscar Graham, to express his position regarding the return of Fonavi, however, this was rejected by the Economy Commission.
