RPL player will compete for the title of the best football player in the world

Iranian Zenit striker Serdar Azmun is included in the list of candidates for the title of the best football player in the world according to the version of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). This was reported on the website of the organization.

The 26-year-old forward is the only representative of the Russian Premier League (RPL) who will compete for the prestigious title. There are 32 candidates on the list. Among them are world football stars: Lionel Messi from Paris Saint-Germain, Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, Robert Lewandowski, who plays for Bayern Munich, and others. IFFHS will name the best player in the world in November.

In 2021, Azmun has 23 matches for Zenit, in which he scored 16 times. As part of the Iranian national team, the forward played seven matches and scored four goals.

Azmun has been playing in the RPL since 2013. His first club in Russia was Rubin Kazan. Along with the Brazilian Wagner Love, the Iranian is the top scorer among legionnaires in the history of the Russian championship.
