A coaching career has slowed down a bit recently. The former Dutch international last worked as Cameroon coach, but was dismissed after one year in July 2019. The 45-year-old has been unemployed since then.

Another footballer converted to Islam. Huge changes in the life of Clarence Seedorf

With unemployment, Seedorf does not seem to be idle and changes his life significantly. On Saturday, the former soccer player informed his fans on social media that he had converted to Islam. The conversion took place in Dubai, where the 45-year-old was accompanied by his wife Sophia Makramati, who is a Muslim. It was she who had the greatest influence on the former’s decision.

This is not the first time that famous footballers have decided to convert to Islam. Previously, this faith was adopted by players such as Nicolas Anelka or Abel Xavier.

– Special thanks for all the nice news on the occasion of my joining the family. I am very happy and glad to be able to join all my brothers and sisters around the world, especially my lovely Sophia who has taught me a deeper meaning of Islam. I have not changed my name and will continue to use my surname given to me by my parents, Clarence Seedorf! I send all my love to everyone in the world – wrote Seedorf on Instagram.

Clarence Seedorf was born in Suriname, but emigrated to the Netherlands at the age of two, and it was for this national team that he made 87 appearances. During his career, he played in the largest clubs in Europe, such as Ajax, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, or, inter alia, winning the Champions League four times.
