Camouflaged in boxes of bananas, a canine from the Ecuadorian Antinarcotics Police found almost two tons of drugs that were intended to go abroad through a port in Guayaquil.
The detection occurred when police officers and Noack the dog carried out an inspection of a shipment of bananas that intended to go to Europe.

The inspection found 131 boxes of bananas contaminated with 2,000 rectangular packages, whose interior contained a whitish substance.

General Víctor Zárate, commander of Zone 8 of the National Police, confirmed this afternoon that a representative of the company that sent the cargo of bananas is detained for investigations.
The merchandise would be priced at approximately $4 million; and internationally, $75 million.
During 2021 there was the seizure of 210 tons, a record figure in seizures, and this year there are already 30 tons at the country level.
