Polish Ambassador to Kiev: I am more worried about the Legion’s result than about my safety

Poland is one of the few countries that still maintains a diplomatic mission in Kiev. While other countries either moved them to Lviv or abroad, the Polish ambassador, Bartosz Cichocki, still resides in the Ukrainian capital.

This one was the guest of the morning conversation on the RMF FM radio. Cichocki talked about the situation in the city, which is the most important target of Russian aggression against Ukraine. A target that is completely beyond the reach of the aggressor for the time being. Kyiv has already fended off several Russian attacks. A convoy of Russian troops was also heading into the city, but on Thursday the British Defense Ministry said it was stuck about 30 kilometers from Kiev and had made “little noticeable progress” in the past three days.

Polish ambassador to Kiev: I am more worried about Legia’s weekend result

– My night went very well. I slept in a safe place, where you couldn’t hear anything – Cichocki began in an interview with RMF FM. And he added: – I do not think that the Russians will be able to enter Kiev. I feel very safe in Kiev. Inside, I’m more worried about Legia’s weekend result than about my safety.

Cichocki, born in Warsaw, is a declared fan of the Warsaw club. In the summer, he posted a photo on Instagram from the match against Flora Tallin in the qualifying rounds.

Cichocki perversely stated that he is more worried about Legia, because there is something to worry about. After 22 rounds of the league, Legia with 22 points on his account is 16th in the table, being in the relegation zone. Although the team has one match left to play, they are two points short of a safe position.

On Monday at 19:00 the legionnaires will play at home against Śląsk Wrocław.
