This Thursday, Betis, who won the first leg by 2-1, and Rayo Vallecano faced each other in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal. At the Benito Villamarín stadium, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both goals by Borja Iglesias and Bebe, respectively, in the final stretch.

Now, Manuel Pellegrini’s team faces Valencia, who eliminated Athletic Bilbao, in the grand final. The decision is scheduled for April 23.

The game – The match started very balanced, with the teams having difficulties to reach the attack and, consequently, few finalizations. More dangerous arrivals were not completed on goal.

In the entire first half, Betis finished only once on Luca Zidane’s goal. Rayo Vallecano didn’t hit any ball in Claudio Bravo’s goal.

In the second stage, needing the result, the visiting team went up. However, the first chance came from the home team, in a kick from outside the area deflected by William Carvalho.

In the 35th minute, Rayo got the goal he needed to tie the aggregate score in a great free kick by Bebe. Shortly after, Betis almost swelled the nets, but the visitors’ defender took it over the line.

Until, in stoppage time, the Seville team’s qualifying goal came. Canales received in depth, touched the goalkeeper’s exit, the defender tried to move away, but the ball hit Borja Iglesias and stopped at the bottom of the goal.
