The organizers of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing refused to invite the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to the demonstration performances at the end of the women’s tournament. It is reported by “Match TV”.
The protocol states that the winners Anna Shcherbakova, Alexandra Trusova and Kaori Sakamoto will take part in the event. In addition, Korean Yu Yong (sixth place), American Alice Liu (seventh place) and Belgian Luna Hendrix (ninth place) will show the demonstration numbers.
Earlier on February 17, Shcherbakova won Olympic gold with a total of 255.95 points. In second place is Trusova, in third is Sakamoto. The last speaker, Valieva, fell twice and made several mistakes, scoring 141.93 points. She ended up finishing in fourth place.
Valieva became a participant in a doping scandal during the Beijing Olympics. Her test dated December 25, 2021 tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine. The World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Olympic Committee sought to remove the figure skater, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed Valieva to participate in the Games.
