Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov commented on the results of the team sprint at the Beijing Olympics. It is reported by “Championship.com”.
The 25-year-old athlete noted that the Russian team did not have time for a full recovery due to the fact that the pause between the semi-finals and the final was short. “The opponents had time to catch their breath, which we were deprived of. We reached the final more tired than the Norwegians or the French,” he added.
Earlier, on February 16, Russian skiers won bronze in the team sprint at the Olympics. The national team was represented by Bolshunov and Alexander Terentyev. Norwegians Eric Valnes and Johannes Klebo became the winners. Finishing second were Iivo Niskanen and Yoni Mäki from Finland.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20. Domestic athletes compete at the Games under the auspices of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
