Russia spoke about possible attempts to sue Valiev at the Olympics

It is physically impossible to try to sue the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, since in any case she has a huge advantage over other athletes, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova believes. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, she clarified that Valieva’s loss is possible only in the event of a fall.

“In fact, if Camila skates in the team competitions at this Olympics in the same way as she did at the European Championships, then it will be physically impossible to sue her. She already has a huge advantage, so points can only be reduced if Kamila falls, ”said Zhurova.

The deputy added that the figure skater has no foreign competitors, only Russian athletes will be able to compete with her for the first places.

“The most amazing thing is that the attack that Camila was subjected to affected all of our girls. We say words of support only to her, but they are also needed [российским фигуристкам] Sasha Trusova, and Anya Shcherbakova. They also need support, because the girls found themselves in this cycle of events, in this psychological struggle. They also should not fall, it is important for all three to wish good luck. So, besides Camila, we have two more contenders, each of which can become an Olympic champion, ”concluded Zhurova.

Earlier, on February 14, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the appeals of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and allowed Valieva to participate in the Olympics. The figure skater will perform in the individual tournament on February 15 and 17.

Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva has spoken out about the controversial doping scandal at the Beijing Olympics. The 15-year-old figure skater admitted that the last days have become very difficult for her.
