The International Olympic Committee (IOC) questioned the version of the entry of a prohibited drug into the body of Kamila Valieva, voiced by the representative of the organization Denis Oswald. This assessment is reported by TASS.
As the press service of the committee notes, Oswald did not have reliable information before the meeting with journalists. He did not attend the meeting of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and was forced to operate with data that he gleaned from the press.
Earlier, IOC officer Oswald said that trimetazidine was in the body of 15-year-old Valieva through a product that her grandfather used. As he noted, this argument played in favor of the skater at the hearing in her doping case at CAS.
The court allowed Valieva to participate in the Olympic Games. The Russian will perform in the individual figure skaters’ tournament on February 15 and 17. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will refuse to hold the awards ceremony if the Russian figure skater is among the winners.
