Russian figure skaters Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov came second in rhythm dance at the Beijing Olympics. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
For their hire, the athletes received 88.85 points from the judges. They beat their personal best of 88.73 points set at the 2020 European Championships.
Another Russian couple is in the top five. Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin finished fifth with 84.09 points. The third Russian duet, Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin, became 14th. For hire, they received 71.66 points.
The first place according to the results of the rhythm dance was taken by the French Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Sizeron. They received 90.83 points for the rental and set a new world record. The top three was closed by Madison Hubbell and Zachary Dohonyu with 87.13 points.
Together with the Russian national team, Sinitsina and Katsalapov won the team tournament of the 2022 Olympics. However, the skaters did not receive gold medals, as the awards ceremony was postponed due to a positive doping test by Kamila Valieva.
