Midis: In just over three and a half months, 3,411 common pots were added to Mankachay Peru

The Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) reported that, thanks to the single national registration system for common pots called Mankachay Peru (My pot Peru), the sector and local governments have information that allows them to improve coordination with other public and private entities, to formulate and execute proposals of food attention to the Citizen Initiatives for Temporary Food Support (ICAAT), known as communal pots.

The Mankachay Peru system, being Midis’s own system, allows direct access to the records of the common pots, and some variables can be incorporated, some data validation precisions placed and immediate information available for decision making in favor of the beneficiaries of the common pots, who have been playing an important role in the context due to COVID-19.

It should be noted that the district municipalities at the national level have the accesses to enter the information of the common pots in said system and immediately the citizens and officials of the State can access in real time (from a PC or cell phone) the information on the number of common pots and number of beneficiaries, among other data.

From November 2021 to date, a total of 3,411 citizen initiatives for temporary food were registered by local governments in the single national registry of common pots called Mankachay Peru (My pot Peru).

This system managed to identify and register 2,476 common pots in Metropolitan Lima, 242 in Callao, 214 in La Libertad, 117 in Arequipa, 102 in Piura and 95 in Junín. In addition, in Huánuco (50), Lambayeque (41), Ayacucho (22), Áncash (20), Lima Provinces (16), Ica (10), Amazonas (5) and Cajamarca (1), so that they receive effective and timely care, through the work articulated with local governments, which enter the data of the common pots of their territories.

Likewise, Mankachay Peru accounts for 257,489 users of these initiatives, who were identified by 85 local governments nationwide, of which 29 are from Metropolitan Lima and 56 from different provinces in the interior of our country, including Callao.

The data

  • The Directorate of Complementary Social Benefits of the Midis is the area responsible for coordinating and supervising the interventions that are carried out within the framework of the social benefits assigned by law.
  • The Midis is in charge of the stewardship of the Food Complementation Program (PCA), and as of 2021, in accordance with Law No. 31126, the institution also provides technical assistance to local governments for the attention of Citizen Support Initiatives Temporary Food (ICAAT) or common pots.
