Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa managerassured that the Brazilian Philippe Coutinho I was “crazy” to go back to the premier league and that they have to get me to enjoy football again.
The Brazilian has already played three games with the ‘Villains’, in which he has scored two goals and distributed two other assists, recovering the brilliance of his days at Liverpool and that he had lost in a gray stage in Barcelona.
“One of the keys was for him to be fast again and we are still working on that. He can get fitter and stronger, and he will when he has more training sessions and games,” Gerrard told a news conference.
“Then we also had to get him to enjoy football again. Being surrounded by the group, smiling and wanting to play. You can see in his matches that he is doing it. He was crazy about coming back to the Premier League and we have given him all the conditions for him to go out there and enjoy himself”, he explained.
“For me, the good thing about Coutinho is that he is very humble, he has a very well-furnished head and his feet are on the ground. You wouldn’t think you’re talking to a world star if you deal with him on a daily basis. He is a great human being,” Gerrard added.
The Brazilian, who will be on loan at Villa until the end of the season, will be able to continue to shine this weekend when his side take on Newcastle United on Sunday. (D)
