Earlier on February 11, the International Testing Agency (ITA) stated that Valieva’s December 25 doping test tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine. After that, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to lift the temporary suspension of Valieva from the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The case of the Russian woman should be considered before the start of the individual tournament at the Olympics. The start of the competition is scheduled for February 15th.
