American mixed martial artist (MMA) Dustin Poirier answered a fan’s question about a possible new fight with Irishman Conor McGregor. Post available at Twitter.
The 33-year-old athlete said that he would most likely not fight the Irishman for the fourth time in his career. In response to another question, Poirier admitted that he would return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in July.
In December 2021, Poirier lost to Brazilian Charles Oliveira for the UFC Lightweight Championship. In the summer of that year, he emerged victorious from the third fight with McGregor. At the end of the first round, the Irishman was injured and could not continue the fight.
In January 2021, Poirier knocked out McGregor and thus took revenge for the defeat in 2014. The Irishman suffered his first knockout loss in his career.
Poirier is a former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion.
