Sunat: More than 600,000 people will be able to file their annual income statement from their cell phones

The National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) reported that, starting next Monday, February 14, more than 600,000 natural people They will be able to file the 2021 Income Statement from their cell phone with the People APP, timely complying with this important tax obligation.

Filing through the application is quick and easy. You just have to download or update this platform from the Google Play or App Store virtual stores, click on the Annual Income option, select Annual Income Declaration, confirm or modify the proposed declaration and that’s it.

You can also declare by going to http://renta.sunat.gob.pe/, where you must choose the Declare option and, in just a few minutes, you will be able to comply with the presentation.

Like every year, Sunat will make available to natural persons who have, among other incomes, employment income for the fourth (independent worker) or fourth and fifth (payroll worker) category, the personalized file, which contains referential information of your income, expenses, withholdings and payments of the Income Tax and the ITF, to facilitate and simplify the declaration.

Return

In the event that a balance in favor of the Income Tax corresponds, the taxpayer can register or update, at that very moment, the Interbank Account Code (CCI), so that Sunat deposits the refund directly in his bank account. .

If, on the other hand, it is up to you to regularize the Income Tax, you can pay it with any credit or debit card. You can also choose to request at that time the deferment (up to six months) and/or installment (up to 36 installments) of the amount to be regularized.

It is estimated that for this 2021 Income Campaign, Approximately 228,832 natural persons will request the return of the balance in favor or excess income tax payment (mainly for work income) for an amount close to S/ 308 million.

Likewise, some 500,000 people, mainly workers on the payroll, who are not required to file their Annual Declaration, but who have had deductible expenses (for consumption in restaurants, bars, hotels, professional services, contributions from domestic workers to Essalud and tourist services), will receive an ex officio refund of the balance in favor of the IR.

For this benefit, the indicated deductible expenses must have been made in 2021 with an electronic sales receipt or receipts for electronic fees, among other proof of payment. Additionally, they must have registered their CCI in the Sunat because the ex officio refund is only made through the deposit in the worker’s bank account.

It is recommended not to wait for the final expiration schedule, which runs from March 25 to April 8 depending on the last digit of the RUCto file the declaration.
