The Tecnoecuadorian Higher Technological Institute (Istte) open the doors of your first headquarters in the province of Santa Elena. “With a quality educational proposal that privileges practical training, it arrives in the province with an initial offer that includes seven higher technological careers and a variety of continuing education courses, aimed at training professionals with knowledge and skills that allow them to be placed in the world of work effectively and that contribute to the economic and social development of the locality and the country”, indicates a statement.
Istte is a technological higher education institution that trains professionals in the field of applied technology, “with a high humanistic commitment, with updated curricular designs, trained teachers, innovative learning environments and processes.” It has 20 years of experience, through its main headquarters located in Quito, where its two main campuses operate. In addition, its educational offer includes a driving school, as well as strategic alliances with other educational institutions to facilitate the continuity of studies and the obtaining of third-level degrees.

Istte’s arrival in Santa Elena seeks to help young people connect with the world of work and to allow access to an alternative higher education without the need to migrate to other cities. “The deficit of technological educational offer and the job vacancy rates registered in this province, it is the second with the highest number of young people between 18 and 24 years old who do not study or work, motivated us to open our first headquarters here, with the mission of contributing to their social, economic development and educational”, explains Alcides Aranda, Ph. D., director of the Santa Elena branch of Tecnoecuatoriano.
The institute is located on Julio Moreno Street, between 24 de Abril and Velasco Ibarra, 5 blocks from the Liborio Panchana Hospital. Of the seven careers available at the moment, four have face-to-face and virtual modalities (Accounting, Software Development, Land Transport Planning and Management, and Safety and Hygiene at Work), two are face-to-face (Automotive Mechanics and Automotive Electromechanics) and one is virtual (Administration).
The careers are of a superior technological nature and have a duration of two years (four semesters) of study. On the other hand, the offer of continuing education courses range from nursing assistant, pharmacy assistant, up to 74 different courses from various fields of knowledge on job skills.
