Cracovia’s coach threw the footballer into the reserves. “This is a ball, not a game”

Marcos Alvarez moved to in July 2020 on a free transfer basis. He is a German with Spanish roots, playing as a striker. In the past, he played in the reserves of Eintracht Frankfurt and as well as Stuttgart Kickers, Dynama Dresden and VfL Osnabrueck.

Alvarez has a three-year contract valid until the end of June 2023 on Cracovia. In the current season, the striker played in 10 matches in the league and scored only one goal and three assists. It looks like Germany will not improve its statistics in the near future.

Zieliński threw the striker into the reserves. “He came badly prepared”

The Cracovia coach informed at the press conference before the match against Lech Poznań that Alvarez was moved to the reserves. Alvarez has lost the competition to the other players, but he knows very well why his situation is this way. After the Christmas and New Year period, he came badly prepared for training, so we sent him back to the reserves. It is a professional ball, not a game – said Zieliński in a video made available by Cracovia on Youtube.

And he added: “Now Alvarez is working with the other team and I am focusing on the players I have.” My head is only concerned with the match with Lech.

Marcos had some good suggestions but decided against them. He is still training with the other team. It is necessary for the second striker to come, but this has nothing to do with his departure – concluded Zieliński.

The entire press conference of Jacek Zieliński is listed below.

The first match of Cracovia with the leader of the table, after the winter break in the league, will be played on Sunday, February 6 at 5:30 PM. Currently, Cracovia is ninth in the league with 26 points and is 15 points behind the team.
