The date of the second fight between the Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Petr Yan and the American Aljamain Sterling has been announced. This is reported ESPN MMA.
Jan vs. Sterling will be the co-main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on April 9th. The fight is declared as a title fight. Sterling will compete as the reigning UFC bantamweight champion, Yang as the interim champion.
In the main event of UFC 273, New Zealander Alex Volkanovski will fight Korean Chen Sung Jong. The event will take place in the USA.
Initially, Jan and Sterling were supposed to fight at the tournament on October 30, 2021 in Abu Dhabi. However, the American withdrew from the fight, citing health problems. Yan defeated Corey Sandhagen, who replaced Sterling, to become the interim champion.
Yan lost his UFC bantamweight title in March 2021 to Stergling. The Russian struck a forbidden blow and was disqualified.
