Fans of the CSKA football club have announced their final position regarding the introduction of Fan ID. The fans’ statement was published on the website of the CSKA Fan Community.
Active fans of the Moscow club joined the boycott of fan IDs. “Under no circumstances will we issue a Fan ID. We will not attend sporting events where the Fan ID system is in place,” the statement said. It is noted that every person who will be a member of this system will become persona non grata for the red-blue fan movement.
“With the advent of Fan ID among fans of the game of millions without evidence, trials and explanations, a global purge of those whom the system considers a “threat to the security of the state” will begin. This will affect everyone – from ultras with hundreds of trips behind their backs to visitors to family sectors and VIP-lodges, ”the statement emphasized. The fans added that they will continue to support the team in tournaments and sports that do not require a fan ID.
On January 27, the head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, spoke out against the introduction of Fan ID. The specialist said that the innovation will bring a lot of inconvenience to people who want to go to football.
The law on the introduction of the FAN ID will come into force on 1 June. Russian league matches will resume after the winter break on February 26.
