The French media regulator Arcom initiated an investigation against the RT France TV channel due to complaints about shortcomings in its coverage of the Yellow Vests protests, as well as events in Syria and the Central African Republic, Ksenia Fedorova, editor-in-chief of the TV channel, said in her Telegram channel.
According to Fedorova, the reason for the proceedings were complaints from “several associations about shortcomings in reporting on crises.” At the same time, she claims that the management of the TV channel was not notified about the inspection of the activities of RT France, and she learned the information from the media. The TV channel requested clarification from the French regulator.
Recall that earlier the German media regulator stopped broadcasting the Russian TV channel RT DE due to the fact that the channel started live broadcasting without a license, and according to the regulator, the German branch of RT did not request this license. In Russia, they claim that RT DE worked in accordance with the European Convention on Transfrontier TV. In response to the “unfriendly actions of the FRG”, the Russian authorities banned the work of the German media outlet Deutsche Welle in Russia and demanded that the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation recognize DW as a foreign agent.
