Russian figure skater spoke about the conflict with the American couple at the Olympics

Russian figure skater Nikita Katsalapov, performing with Victoria Sinitsina, spoke about the conflict with the American couple Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donoghue during the rhythm dance warm-up in the team tournament of the 2022 Olympic Games. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The Russian noted that they were the first to start making their connection, and the Americans saw them and had to give way in order to avoid a collision. Katsalapov added that five couples ride during the warm-up, and therefore athletes often swear because of this.

“I don’t even remember if it was in English or Russian, but I said something. Somehow accumulated, boiled, ”Katsalapov shared. He noted that the situation continued throughout the day. “All this remains only on the ice, there are no problems outside it, they are cool guys,” the skater explained.

Sinitsina and Katsalapov took second place in the rhythm dance. They lost to the American pair by 1.5 points.
