The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) issued a statement on the reported execution of the Afghan youth team member Mahajabid Hakimi by the Taliban (banned in Russia). He is quoted by TASS with reference to the press service of the organization.
“The FIVB is shocked and appalled by some media reports of the tragic death of Mahjubin Hakimi. However, it should be noted that there are conflicting reports about the true cause of her death. Therefore, the FIVB continues to seek clarification, ”- said in a statement. The organization also strongly condemned all forms of violence and pointed to the right of anyone to play sports without fear, prejudice or intimidation.

According to the source, the murder of the girl became known in early October, but the incident was kept secret. Hakimi’s family also remained silent as they received threats. At the same time, on the Facebook page of Hakimi’s brother, the post about the girl’s death is dated August 9, that is, it appeared even before the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan.
