Lucas Eguibar, boardercross world champion, finished fifth in the world Cup of that discipline that was played this Saturday at the Italian station of cortina d’Ampezzo, the last one before the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which the german won Martin Noerl.
Eguibar, born 27 years ago in San Sebastián, got ‘hooked’ in the semi-final series, in the upper part of the Dolomites circuit, with jumps, modules and banked curves and 950 meters long -starting at an altitude of 1,465 and a drop of 515-, for which he was forced to dispute the small final, the that decided the positions from fifth to eighth, a round in which the Basque star prevailed without problems.
Noerl won the final ahead of the Austrian Alessandro Hammerle -winner of the last three editions of the World Cup- and the Australian Cameron Bolton, who finished third.
