The occupancy of beds for COVID-19 is high in Ambato

Diana Almeida, executive director of the Permanent Committee of the FFF, assured that the correct decisions of the authorities for the development of the festivities have the same feeling as 72 years ago when on August 5, 1949 the earth trembled and a large part of the city. “As in that year, today we get up again,” he said.

“With our heads held high, looking at the sky, trusting that we are responsible for building a fair and more humane present, but we are also the foundations of a future that firmly seeks to get up and reactivate economically. We are not oblivious to all those people who left (died from COVID), family, friends, but we cannot be oblivious to that need to keep moving, “he added.

He thanked for believing in the fair and necessary economic reactivation and considering that it is important to maintain traditions because they are a fundamental part of collective identity.

In addition, he stressed that the FFF is a symbol of work, art and culture, which has been inscribed on the map of the country and the world.

Committee staff announced that the official presentation of the FFF will be on February 11, while the proclamation and the election of the queen of Ambato will take place on February 19.

The places are yet to be defined in accordance with the decisions adopted by the cantonal Emergency Operations Committee (COE), due to the capacity in the current health situation. (I)
