Fan associations of the Moscow “Spartak” made a collegial decision to boycott the matches of the team due to the adoption of the law on the introduction of Fan ID. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Arena Nezygar”.
As it became known to the source, fans of the red and white held a meeting, which was attended by the leaders of the main fan groups. Despite the existing disagreements, the fans managed to reach a consensus.
It was decided that the boycott would take effect from the resumption of the season in the Russian Premier League (RPL) after the winter break, and not from the moment the law came into force. Fans who ignore the decision will be expelled from the fan movement and declared persona non grata for life. An official boycott announcement is expected next week.
On December 30, the law on the introduction of Fan ID was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The system was tested during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. To enter the podium, each fan was required to have a personalized spectator card.
