Singer and actor Meat Loaf dies at 74

American rock singer and actor Marvin Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf, He has died at the age of 74 after six decades dedicated to music and acting, his family has communicated today.

“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight, surrounded by his wife Deborah, his daughters Pearl and Amanda, and his closest friends“, Says the family on the Facebook page of the singer, born in Dallas (Texas) in 1947 and author of ‘Bat Out of Hell’, one of the ten best-selling albums in history.

Meat Loaf went on to sell over 100 million albums worldwide and acted in more than 65 filmsincluding ‘Fight Club,’ ‘Focus,’ ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ and ‘Spread Me!’

“We know how much it meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of your love and support at this time of grieving the loss of such an inspiring artist and such a wonderful man,” remarks his family, which concludes with a message “from your heart to your souls… never stop rocking!”.
