Robert Lewandowski repite premio The Best

Bayern’s Polish striker won the FIFA award ahead of Argentina’s Messi and Egypt’s Salah.

The Polish Robert Lewandowski, forward of the German Bayern Munich, has been awarded for the second consecutive year with the FIFA The Best award for the best player, ahead of the Argentine Leo Messi and the Egyptian Mohamed Salah.

Lewandowski completed a magnificent 2021 in which he won the Bundesliga and the German Super Cup, as well as scoring 69 goals throughout a calendar year. He also surpassed Gerd Müller’s historic record by scoring 41 goals in the same season in the Teutonic league.

“I dreamed of breaking that record. I thought it was impossible to score so many goals in the Bundesliga, but it was achieved. I want to thank the Torpedo Müller for guiding me to break those figures”, he affirmed.

The Polish striker acknowledged that he was “very proud”, because for him “it is an honor to receive this award”. He dedicated it to his technicians and colleagues for their joint work to achieve the goals set. (D)
