While the leadership contemplates the hiring of one more foreigner, the technical direction allows the departure of forward Vernaza.
Emelec has not closed its pass book in the current winter market. In contact with EL UNIVERSO, the president of the Blues, Nassib Neme, stated on Saturday that, if the institution loaned one of its four goalkeepers, it would sign another outfield player. The millionaire team so far has seven hires to face the 2022 season, and this Sunday he announced that forward Jefferson Vernaza has been loaned for one year, without an option to purchase, to Deportivo Cuenca.
Vernaza, 20, made his debut at Club Sport Emelec in February 2021, a campaign in which he played in seven games (one as a starter) and accumulated 137 minutes.
He played one match in the first phase of LigaPro Serie A 2021, three in the second phase, one in the South American Cup 2021 and one in the Ecuador Super Cup. His only starting commitment, with ninety minutes on the court, was against October 9 in the framework of the Super Cup.
His signing for Cuenca joins those of Sixto Mina, Marco Montaño and Francisco Mera, who sealed their relationship with the Azuayan club on Friday.
The Azuayan squad, which this year will again be led by Argentine Gabriel Schürrer, has also incorporated Bryan Rivera, Eduardo Bores Díaz, Mateo Zambrano, Efrén Mera, Hamilton Piedra and the Argentines Raúl Becerra and Lucas Andrés Colitto.
Cristian Penilla, who returned to Barcelona SC, and Diego Dorregaray from Albiceleste were discharged. (D)
