Two men and a woman were wounded with gunshot wounds while sharing a meeting of friends inside a house in the La Merced neighborhood, in the city of San Lorenzo del Pailón, in the north of Esmeraldas.
This assassination attempt took place around 03:00 on Sunday, January 9, at a time when the victims were in the house sharing alcoholic beverages.
One of the witnesses revealed to the police officers that two unknown individuals came through the mangrove swamp and climbed onto the house. After firing several shots at those present, they fled through the same place without being captured.
The two men are 26 and 37 years old and the woman is 21, who received the gunshot wounds in different parts of the body and were taken to the Divina Providencia hospital in San Lorenzo. One of them received seven projectile hits and, due to his critical condition, was transferred to the Sur Delfina Torres hospital, in the city of Esmeraldas.
The police agents carried out the respective tests in the house and found 18 hitting pods and 3 deformed bullets as evidence at that site of the attack.
They also reported that the victims do not have a judicial record.
Uniformed officers indicated that, at the moment, personnel from the National Directorate for Investigation of Crimes Against Life, Violent Deaths, Disappearances, Kidnapping and Extortion (Dinased), in collaboration with personnel from the Judicial Police and uniformed members of the Urban Service, are working in flagrante delicto in order to identify and locate suspects.
