Athletes of the categories sub-14, 16 and 18, in women and men, from various cities of the country are part of the first stage of this project
At National Tennis Center from Ecuadorian Tennis Federation (FET), located in Lomas de Urdesa, began the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup Ecuador program, which is promoted by the national entity.
The presentation of the program was attended by the president of the FET, Danilo Carrera; the Betcris representative, Joseph Lynch; the Davis Cup captain, Raúl Viver; Miguel Olvera, glory of Ecuadorian tennis; and two former presidents of the FET, Carlos Muñoz and Alberto March.
Fifty youth tennis players of the categories 14, 16 and 18 years (women and men) from various cities of the country are part of the first stage of this program. Are the best tennis players in each category, national teams and the tennis players with the best ranking Cosat (South American Tennis Confederation) those who came to this call.
In this first stage, which will run until Sunday, January 9, medical, psychological, physical and technical tests are carried out. After this step, a report will be prepared for the coaches to use with their players.
The group is led by Ecuadorians Andres Gomez, Raúl Viver, Tyrone Flores, Jorge Sanmartin and the Argentine Alejandro Corizzo. During the three days of the camp, the tennis players will work from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.
Carrera in his speech emphasized that “today one of the dreams of all of us who love tennis crystallizes… Many presidents of the FET fought to create a program that develops youth tennis and we already have it in place ”.
“Of this group 8 players will come out (4 ladies and 4 men) that they will receive technical, psychological, medical support, and so that they can participate in South American and European tours in search of raising their level, “said the manager.

14 years: Luca Yúnez, Emilio Camacho, Ángel Veliz, Jaime Ortiz, Ramón Mateos, Adrián Maldonado, Felipe Wright and Sergio Castro.
16 years: Ernesto Pico, Daniel Espín, José Pérez, Mario Galárraga, Felipe Morales, Joaquín Zurita, José Ribadeneira and Francisco Castro.
18 years: Omar Suárez, José Andrade, Juan Naranjo, Eusebio Díaz, Martín Suárez, Gian Rodríguez, Miguel Larrea, Marcos Chan and Jorge Ruiz.
In ladies
14 years: Viktoria Monge, Ana Paula Játiva, Simone Herdoiza, Kristhel Carriel, Manuela Merlo, Alenka Hilbron and Rafaella Bernal.
16 years: Andrea Robles, Valentina Ponce, Valentina Vargas, Hailey Lizano, Paula Castellanos, Ariadna Fernández, Kristel Játiva, Roberta Durán, Carolina Guerrero, María Victoria Robles and Bárbara Olvera.
