Paquetá is in PSG’s crosshairs, says French newspaper

According to information from the French newspaper L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain is studying the hiring of Brazilian Lucas Paquetá, who is currently at Lyon, for next season.

Also according to the tabloid, the director of PSG, Leonardo, would be the main person interested in hiring Paquetá. In 2018, L’Équipe stated that the Paris team tried to hire the midfielder, but Milan won the competition to remove the athlete from Brazilian football.

In the current season, Lucas Paquetá is one of the main players of Lyon. So far, the Brazilian has played 22 matches for the team, having scored seven goals and four assists in his account.

The 24-year-old midfielder, revealed by Flamengo, has a link with the French team until 2025. He was bought from Milan, in 2020, for 20 million euros, but the French newspaper believes that Lyon can ask for up to triple the amount paid. (60 million euros) by the athlete, if PSG proceeds with the onslaught.

Paris has some options in its squad for the sector in which Paquetá operates, but Verratti and Wijnaldum, the main names in the Paris midfield, have not responded. While Verrati has been suffering from injuries, Wijnaldum has not been able to repeat the football presented at Liverpool.

Interestingly, the two teams involved face off next Sunday (9), at 4:45 pm (GMT), at the Lyon stadium, for the 20th round of the French Championship.
