After the massive departure of players from the holy club, Rondelli has begun the reconstruction of the squad, covering the places left by attacking midfielder Diego Armas (Aucas), goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez (University of Chile), right-back Andrés López (Liga de Quito ), central defender Guillermo De los Santos and forwards Édder Farías and Juan Manuel Tévez.
In that sense, he signed Minda, a midfielder from Ibarra who played 15 games with El Nacional in the LigaPro Serie B 2021 and scored two goals.
Caicedo is a central defender from Guayaquil who had few opportunities with Barcelona SC and accumulated 5 games between LigaPro Serie A and Supercopa Ecuador.
Carrasco, a right back from Ambato, played 28 games in LigaPro Serie A with Mushuc Runa.
Meanwhile, Cárdenas, a Quito goalkeeper, was a substitute for Adrián Gabbarini in the league goal and barely acted as a starter in the last two days of the second phase of the national championship, due to the rupture of the crossed knee ligaments of the Ecuadorian nationalized Argentine.
Universidad Católica begins its participation from phase 2 of the Copa Libertadores on February 23 against a team to be defined.
LigaPro Serie A will begin in February and will end in October due to the celebration of the Qatar 2022 World Cup between November and December. (D)
