Former Amkar midfielder Oleg Mishchenko admitted that he did not regret leaving the Ukrainian championship and went to the Russian Premier League (RPL). His words are quoted by the Ukrainian Fanday.
The 32-year-old Ukrainian, who has already completed his professional career, justified himself for performing in Russia. “The RPL is ten goals higher than our championship. It is a fact. Let our team be stronger. Yes, once our league was ahead, but now they have bypassed us, ”Mishchenko said.
He also noted that he supports Ukrainian players who agreed to move to Russian clubs. He drew attention to the fact that, compared to the Ukrainian championship, the players are paid much more in the RPL. “In“ Amkar ”I earned more than at home. 30 thousand dollars a month, ”Mishchenko said.
The Ukrainian midfielder moved to Amkar in 2016, but played only one match for the Permians. Having failed to gain a foothold in the Russian club, he spent the rest of the 2016/2017 season in the Ukrainian Illichivets on loan.
