Vasiliev: IBU can allow the Russians to select the Olympics at the last moment
Two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev predicted how the International Biathlon Union (IBU) could be stolen in the issue of Russians to select the Olympic Games-2026. His words are given by “All -Sport.”
“If a miracle happens, we will be allowed to qualify the Olympics. And I have no doubt that IBU will do this at the very last moment, they cannot do otherwise, only meanness and can organize. They will announce a week before the first stage of the World Cup, ”he suggested. Vasiliev emphasized that therefore it is important for athletes to build preparation so that at the right time it is ready.
Earlier, the head of IBU Olla Dalin responded to the call of the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) of Thomas Bach to study the possibilities of the admission of Russians to the qualification tournaments of OI-2026. He stated that the removal of Russians is preserved.
Russians and Belarusians have not participated in international competitions by decision of IBU since March 2022.
