Daily said he did not expect matches with the participation of NHL players against the Russian national team
The deputy commissioner of the National Hockey League (NHL) Bill Daily appreciated the chances of holding matches between the players of the League and the Russian national team. His words are given by RIA Novosti.
“I do not expect a single game with the participation of existing NHL players,” Daily said.
On February 4, the International Hockey Federation extended sanctions against the Russian national team and did not allow the team to 2026. At the same time, the decision on the performance of Russians at the Olympics in Italy will be made after the election of the president of the International Olympic Committee in March 2025.
In the NHL, Russian players continue to perform without restrictions. However, the Russian team did not receive an invitation to the tournament of the four nations, in which the national teams of Canada, the USA, Sweden and Finland took part.
