KHL fined Spartak for insulting chants addressed to SKA

The Continental Hockey League (KHL) punished Spartak following the results of the regular championship match against SKA on January 30 (3: 4 for shootouts). This was reported on the League website.

“The League decided to apply a cash fine on the Spartak hockey club on the basis of the KHL disciplinary regulation for offensive chanting against the opponent’s team,” the statement said. Also, the metropolitan team was a warning for demonstrating offensive attributes with fans. In case of repetition of violations to the club, penalties will be applied.

Previously, following the results of the same match, the KHL fined SKA. The league recorded offensive chants using obscene words and statements to Muscovites. After that, the head coach of the Petersburgers Roman Rotenberg called for life to disqualify SKA fans for the mat.

Spartak takes fourth place in the standings of the Western Conference, having 68 points in 52 games. SKA with 67 points in 53 matches is located on the sixth line.
