“Independent” is the first film made by M. Night Shyamalan after the iconic “Sixth Deputy”. Thriller, however, was not as enthusiastically received as the previous production, although the critics generally assessed it positively. The ending with the unexpected return of the action preceding him aroused dissatisfaction. In 2009, Quentin Tarantino posted “indestructible” on the list of the 20 best films shot after 1992.
